Purpose and legal basis of a date enquiry
Data submitted in a date enquiry is processed to answer the guest’s own request, check the requested period and, where possible, prepare an offer. The legal basis is GDPR Article 6(1)(b): taking steps at the data subject’s request before entering into a contract. Marketing consent is not requested for this processing.
Data processed
Name, email address, arrival and departure dates, guest count, parking need and language; optionally a phone number and free-text message. Identity documents and card details are not requested through the enquiry form.
Required and optional fields
Without the required fields the date enquiry cannot be meaningfully processed. Phone number and the free-text message are optional.
Recipients and processors
The operator and the website-hosting/email infrastructure providers may access the data only to the extent needed to operate the service. The date-enquiry form contents are not submitted to a payment provider, analytics or marketing service, CRM, or Booking.com.
Hosting and international transfers
The website and date-enquiry form are hosted on infrastructure provided by Ethernet Servers Ltd (United Kingdom). Transfers to the United Kingdom connected with this hosting service rely on the European Commission adequacy decision for the United Kingdom under GDPR Article 45.
Cloudflare proxy/CDN and security
Maria’s Budapest public web traffic passes through Cloudflare proxy/CDN and security services. Cloudflare may process technical data such as IP address, timestamps and request metadata as needed for delivery and abuse prevention. Turnstile is an additional, separate bot-protection check; Maria’s Budapest does not send the enquiry name, email, phone, message or requested dates in the Siteverify request.
Google Maps Platform
The neighbourhood map loads Google Maps content only after explicit visitor activation. Before activation there is no Google Maps request. After activation, the browser may transmit technical request data such as IP address to Google Maps Platform. The map does not send the date-enquiry form contents.

Retention
Retention is determined by the purpose of the processing. Enquiry data is kept while it is needed to answer the specific date request and for any active pre-contract follow-up. When no such follow-up remains, the data is deleted or anonymised through periodic retention review unless a separately documented legal obligation or other appropriate legal basis requires continued retention. If a booking is concluded, separate booking, accounting and other mandatory retention rules apply.
Your rights
Subject to the applicable GDPR conditions, you may request access, rectification, erasure or restriction and, where the conditions apply, data portability. You may lodge a complaint with the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH) and seek a judicial remedy.

Automated decision-making and marketing
There is no automated decision-making or profiling based on the date enquiry. Enquiry data is not automatically reused as a marketing list; marketing requires its own appropriate legal basis.
